For Sale is a Full Page Photograph taken from "The Sphere," March 2nd, 1901, showing  "The Historic Proclamation of King Edward VII. at Cape Town."

This picture, taken by Duffus Bros., shows the proclamation of King Edward VII. from the front of the Town Hall (which is the old Dutch guard house) at noon on January 26. The weather was brilliant, and an immense crowd thronged the square. At the conclusion of the reading of the proclamation Sir Alfred Milner stepped forward, and in a loud voice cried "God Save The King!" A great shout went up from the vast assembly, and with the singing of the National Anthem the proceedings ended. Public enthusiasm was intense, though the national bereavement cast a gloom over the community.
