A Derby Story of the "Sixties." 1895

For Sale is a Full Page taken from "The Illustrated Sporting and Dramatic News, May 25th, 1895, called "A Derby Story of the "Sixties," showing the following Illustrations by J & G Temple.

1- Said the Fair invalid, I dreamt they were going to poison the son of "Rataplan".
2- When well, he took her to see the Drum as they called him. There's the Drum, he never looked better.
3- But Mr. Oats the Trainer changed his box to that of "True Blue".
4- The Boys found "True Blue" stark and stiff. a hole in the Wall over the Manger showed where the poisoned Carrot's came from.
5- She wore his colours on Derby Day.
6- And he won the Derby in the fastest time on record.
