500th Anniversary of the Battle of Shrewsbury.

For Sale is a Full Page taken from "The Sphere, July 18th, 1903, " showing the Following 8 Photographs for "The 500th Anniversary of the Battle of Shrewsbury." Fought on July 21, 1403, between King Henry IV. and the Nobles, led by Hotspur, son of the Earl of Northunberland, who had conspired to dethrone Henry.
    a- A Famous old house at Shrewsbury. (This is the celebrated Ideland Mansion.)
    b- The Battlefield Church near Shrewsbury. (Erected on the spot where Hotspur fell.)
    c- House where Henry VII. stayed on his way to Bosworth Field, 1485.
    d- Shrewsbury's modern Hero, Charles Darwin, and the Mount, where he was Born.
     e- Council House erected 1502. (The English Parliament was held here in 1687.)
     f- The Skeleton of an Old Oak. (From whcih Owen Glendover watched the close of the Battle.)
     g- The only remaining Watch Tower on the Town Walls. (They were erected as a protection against the Welsh.)
