Reception and Evening Dresses. 1885.

For Sale is a Full Page taken from "The Queen, the Lady's Newspaper, December 5th, 1885," showing the Following eleven Engraved Illustrations for "Reception and Evening Dresses."

    a- Valois Dress in either grey velvet or watered Silk.Skirt with tablier in silver-grey satin, beaded with steel-coloured marigolds. Pointed bodice with plastron to match. Black lace fan, beaded with steel.
    b- Bodice in china-blue velvet, opening on a front ofChantilly lace ; Louis XIII. collar in white lace. White satin waistcoat. Blue velvet pouf. Pente of white faille, beaded with turquoises and pearls, and further enhanced with lace. Tunic in light blue china crape, trimmed with pearls and lace.
    c- Trimmed dress in faille Framcaise broche of a delicate bluish-grey tint, draped with white Chantilly lace, and ornamented with plumes of Ostrich feathers. The front of the skirt is of white satin, glittering with electric beads.
    d- Bodice of copper-coloured velvet, trimmed with white lace, and caught up with pearls. Short lace skirt.
    e- Bodice in heliotrope gros de Naples, ornamented with jetted gimp ; short lace sleeves. Drapery and tunic in point d' Angleterre. Skirt trimmed with a pente of pink faille, sparkling with jet beads.
    f- Bodice of pale-green tulle over satin of the same tint. Train of moss-green velvet. The embrooidered net tunic displays a pente of pale-green satin, ornamented with water-lilies wrought in pearls.
    g- Dark Havannah-coloured damask, embossed with gold and copper-hued designs. Skirt in pointed Alencon lace, with festoons of copper moireribbon across the tablier. Short epaulette sleeves and long suede gloves.
    h- Bodice and tunic in white china crepe, draped with gimp motifs, beaded with turquoise and silver roses. White faille pente beaded to correspond. Sash in turquoise-blue velvet.
    i- Train, bodice, and tunic in periwinkle velvet flickering with pearls. Skirt in gros de Suede on a lighter tint, enhanced with stripes and floss silk embroidery. The bodice is V-shaped back and front.
   j- Bodice of old pink velvet, shot with silver. Peasant skirt of sprigged net, looped up with silver thistles.
   k- Bodice and tunic in otter-coloured China crape, trimmed with peacocks' feathers. Train in velvet, adjusted with bows of velvet ribbon, tipped with gold balls.
