"The Mystery of Edwin Drood," at His Majesty's Theatre. 1908.

For Sale is the Front Page taken from "The Illustrated Sporting and Dramatic News, January 18th, 1908," showing a Photograph for "The Mystery of Edwin Drood," at His Majesty's Theatre."

The incident shown occurs just after Rosa Bud (Betrothed to Edwin Drood, but loved by her music-master John Jasper) has been singing to Jasper's pianoforte accompaniment.  The music-master, as he touches the keys, follows Rosa's lips with his eyes, until under their baleful spell the singer's voice rises to a shriek and the girl falls fainting.
