Tolstoy's "Resurrection" at His Majesty's Theatre. 1903.

For Sale is a Full Page removed from "The Illustrated Sporting and Dramatic News, February 28th, 1903," showing a Drawing by A. Forestier called "Tolstoy's "Resurrection" at His Majesty's Theatre."

Prince Nehludof (Mr. Tree). visits in her prison Katusha (Miss Lena Ashwell), whom he ruined ten years before, since when she has sunk to the lowest depths.  The Prince determined to do all he can to expiate his early crime, breaks his engagement to a princess and resolves to ask Katusha to marry him.  The woman, however, by now quite brutalised by drink and vice, scarcely listens to Nehludof, and he produces an old photograph of the pair taken in their happier days, upon which she slowly recognises her seducer;  he stands motionless while the woman scans his features.

Condition is Very Good.
