The first intimation of the Fall of Port Arthur was sent to this country by Laffan's agency and appeared in the "evening" papers of Monday at about ten o'clock in the morning, just as business men were going Citywards.  The Posters attracted much attention even although the fortress had fallen so many times-in the imagination of the gentlemen who send telegrams from Chifu.
