The Lord Mayor's Procession was a success.  The Worshipful Company of Grocers (of which the Lord Mayor is a member) was followed by perhaps the most picturesque section of the procession, emblematic of the Company's ancient trading customs.  A drove of dromedaries bearing bags of imaginary spices, led by Arabs and guarded by a mounted and armed escort of sheikhs in picturesque Oriental costumes, made a really striking scene.
