The Ambush at Koorn Spruit : A Gun Team Running Amok. 1900.

For Sale is a Double Page removed from "The Graphic, May 19th, 1900," showing a Drawing by J. Charlton from a sketch by G. D. Giles for "The Ambush at Koorn Spruit :  A Gun Team Running Amok."

Colonel Broadwood's Cavalry Division in the affair at Koorn Spruit extricated themselves from what at first threatened to be an overwhelming disaster. When the waggons had descended into the drift and had been quietly captured, U Battery R.H.A. followed, and had also to surrender, but Major Taylor, commanding the battery, managed to slip away and warn Q Battery, which was following.  The drivers whipped round their teams and dashed off.  The Boers opened fire as soon as they found that their plan was revealed, and the greatest confusion ensued.  The drivers of one gun were shot, and the horses stampeded wildly into the 10th Hussars, who, dividing, to let them pass, rode after them and at length pulled them up.

Condition is Very Good, with the usual fold down through the middle of the pages, also small staple holes showing.
