A Baluchi Gymkhana.- The Camel Race. 1906.

For Sale is a Full Page removed from "The Illustrated Sporting and Dramatic News, January 6th, 1906," showing a Landscape Drawing by Sheldon Williams, for "A Baluchi Gymkhana.- The Camel Race."

Once a year there is a gathering in Quetta of the neighbouring Baluch and Brahui clans, and the event of the greatest interest is the Baluchi gymkhana.  The camel races are the most unique feature, and to see their riders swaying backward and forward and sideways, apparently in momentary danger of a fall, gives one an idea of what can be accomplished by balance.  The bridle is merely a bit of string through the nose; the stirrups, large clumsy iron ones, and the saddle an uncomfortable wooden arrangement covered with an embroidered piece of felt, hung with tassels.

Condition is Very Good, with the page being lightly tanned.
