Rock Pigeon Shooting in the Mediterranean. 1904.

For Sale is a Full Page removed from "The Illustrated Sporting and Dramatic News, January 2nd, 1904," showing an Illustration for "Rock Pigeon Shooting in the Mediterranean."

The illustration shows a party of English naval officers potting the wily pigeon. Pigeons and doves abound in most parts of the world, and perhaps on the rock-bound coast of the Mediterranean this shooting is enjoyed to perfection.  It is not everybody's sport, but downright difficult and disappointing.  The bird watches the motions of the gunners with great interest, and only by stalking-no easy task on slippery stones-can he be landed.  The general programme is a party on the top and a division under the cliffs. An attendant boat picks up any birds that fall into the sea.  Good snappy sport is enjoyed, but big bags are not the rule.
