For Sale is a Full Page removed from "The Bystander, April 21st, 1909," showing a Drawing by E. G. O. Beuttler called "Forgotten Feats of the British Navy, No. 3.-Lieut. Ulysses, R.N., Visits another World-The First Submarine." showing "The First Submarine off to the Land of the Cimmerian Men."

It is not quite fair to credit Jonah with the only pre-modern essay at undersea travel. When Lieut. Uysses, R.N. visited the land where the two rivers of the dead meet, in order to cut the throats of the two favourite black sheep (ship's pets and precursors of the Beresford bull-dogs) there is every reason to believe that he voyaged in some form of submarine vessel.
