Golf Clubs and Golfers. : The South Herts Golf Club. 1934.

TThe famous caricaturist has drawn a wide-spread net around all the celebrities of this distinguished club, and as usual has presented his sitters with some absolutely life-like portraits.  To Purloin the wordsof the club's chronicler, 'South Herts is known wherever golf is played."  The club came into existence in 1899, and it was in 1902 Harry Vardon began his association with it as professional.  It was from South Herts that he entered to win the last three of his six British Open Championships. and his victories on both sides of the Atlantic have carried the fame of South Herts to every quarter of the globe.  The club is at Totteridge in the smiling valley which lies to the west of the Great North Road before it reaches High Barnet.  It is quite unneccessary to  add that a course to which Harry Vardon has given more than a quarter of a century of work is anything but that which it is.
