The Temple Golf Club lieas about four miles from Maidenhead and adjoins the main road to Oxford.  The course itself, which provides very pleasant golf and is kept in adnirable order, makes no claim to be a championship test, but to find a prettier course one would have to travel very far and wide.  From the club-houde there is a glorious view of the Thames Valley with the spire of Marlow Church a conspicuous landmark among the wooded slopes and peaceful meadows.  In Percy Beal the club has a most excellent tutor in the game, and it can be said that he is responsible for helping Miss Molly Gourlay to attain to such success in the world of women's golf.  Few people who play golf at the Temple G.C. know that it was just the spin of a coin whether it or Sandown was to be seleccted for a racecourse, and Sandown was chosen because it was more easily accessible-by Hanson cab.
