"The New York Idea." The American Comedy, at The Apollo Theatre. 1907.

For Sale is a Full Page removed from "The Illustrated Sporting and Dramatic News, December 14th, 1907," showing the Following 6 Photographs for "The New York Idea," The American Comedy, at the Apollo Theatre."

   1- John Karslake (Mr. Fred Kerr) learns by telephone that the divorce granted to his former wife, Cynthia, was not legal, and that he must consequently stop her marriage arranged for that night with Pennington.
   2- The Englishman, Sir Wilfred Gates-Darby,  Bart. (Mr. Edmund Maurice), with his bride, Mrs Pennington (Miss Ethel Matthews) after their midnight marriage. Cynthia had refused Sir Wilfred, but the prudent Englishman had had Mrs. Pennington (divorced by Judge Pennington) in reserve.
   3- The excitable Cynthia (Miss Ellis Jeffreys) :  "Put that chair on its feet, Fidler!" Fidler (Mr. Cecil Yapp) :  "Against orders, mam : you'd kicked it over when you left us."  (Cynthia hae returned to the home of the husband whom she divorced because he would not take her to the races, and finds the room has been left untouched since her cyclonic departure.)
   4- The dashing Cynthia in the drowsy home of her fiancee, Judge Pennington (Mr. Fred Volpe), who is seen asleep in his chair, on the day before their wedding.
   5- Cynthia has ruched from her fiance,   the Judge, when the wedding service was beginning, as her repugnance to the prosy groom overcame her, and has taken refuge at the home of her former husband just after that gentleman has discovered that their divorce was not valid.  The Judge has followed his bride, bur is receiving his dismissal from the former husband through the open window :  "All right, Judge,  you need not wait.   Good-Night."
   6- The reconciliation of the hot-tempered, sporting couple, Mr. and Mrs. John Karslake  (Mr. Kerr and and Miss Jeffreys).  Karslake :  "Here's to your next husband." Cynthia :  "No don't, please."  Karslake :  "What toast shall in propose?"  Cynthia :  "Drink to my relationship to you."  Karslake :  "What relation are you?"  Cynthia :  "I am your first wife, once removed."
