   4- A dangerous Scottish opening closed.
   5- Waiting for the ball to leave the scrum.
   6- A sponge down at half-time.

Although the ground was unsuitable to the Africans' style of play, and more than one of their men suffered injury in the course of the game, it was generally thought that the Scotchmen won the game on their merits last Saturday.  Scotland gave, it will be remembered, a very hard fight to the New Zealanders last season.
