And it came to pass, as they fled from be-fore Is-ra-el, and were in the go-ing down to Beth-horon, that the Lord cast down great stones from hea-ven up-on them un-to A-ze-kah, and they di-ed :  they were more which-di-ed with hail-stones than they whom the chil-dren of Is-ra-el slew with the sword.
Then spake Josh-u-a to the Lord in the day when the Lord de-liv-er-ed up the A-mor-ites be-fore the child-ren of Is-ra-el, and he said in the sight of Is-ra-el, Sun, stand thou still up-on Gi-be-on ;  and thou, Moon, in the val-ley of A-ja-lon.   And the sun stood still, and the moon stay-ed, un-til the peo-ple had a-veng-ed them-selves up-on their en-e-mies.  Is not this writ-ten in the book of Jasher ?   So the sun stood still in the midst of hea-ven, and hast-ed not to go down a-bout a whole day.  And there was no day like that be-fore it or af-ter it, that the Lord heark-en-ed un-to the voice of a man :  for the Lord fought for Is-ra-el.- Joshua x.  11 to 14.

Then went Sam-son down,  and his fa-ther and his mo-ther, to Tim-nath, and came to the vine-yards of Tim-nath :  and, be-hold, a young li-on roar-ed a-gainst him.
And the Spi-rit of the Lord came might-i-ly up-on him, and he rent him as he would have rent a kid, and he had noth ing in his hand :  but he told not his fa-ther or his mo-ther what he had done.
And he went down and talk-ed with the wo-man ;  and she pleas-ed Sam-son well.
And af-ter a time he re-turn-ed to take her, and he turn-ed a-side to see the car-case of the li-on ;  and, be-hold, there was a swarm of bees and ho-ney in the car-case of the li-on.  And he took there-of in his hands, and went on eat-ing, and came to his fa-ther and mo-ther, and he gave them, and they did eat :  but he told not them that he had tak-en the hon-ey out of the car-case of the li-on.
