Christ at Jacob's Well. 1842c.

For Sale is a Full Page removed from a "Series of Scripture Prints," By William Darton, 1842c.  showing a Half Page Hand Coloured Engraved Print, together with a Half Page of Text from the Bible, called "Christ at Jacob's Well."  John iv.  5 to 9.

Then com-eth he to a ci-ty of Sa-charm near to the par-cel of ground that Ja-cob gave to his son Jo-seph.
Now Ja-cob's well was there.  Je-sus there-fore, be-ing wea-ri-ed with his jour-ney,  sat thus on the well :  and it was about the sixth hour.
There com-eth a woman of Sa-ma-ri-a to draw wa-ter :  Je-sus saith un-to her,  Give me to drink.
(For his dis-ci-ples were gone a-way un-to the ci-ty to buy meat.)
Then said the wo-man of Sa-ma-ri-a un-to him, How is it that thou, be-ing a Jew, ask-est drink of me,  which am a wo-man of Sa-ma-ri-a ?  for the Jews have no deal-ings with the Sa-ma-ri-tans.

When Je-sus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith un-to him, wilt thou be made whole ?
The Im-po-tent man an-swer-ed him,  Sir, I have no man,  when the wa-ter is trou-bled, to put me in--to the pool :  but while I am com-ing, an-o-ther step-peth down be-fore me.
Je-sus saith un-to him,  Rise, take up thy bed, and walk,
And im-me-di-ate-ly the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walk-ed :  and on the same day was the sab-bath.
