This plate shows a Gold tinted Lithograph of a House, showing wooden acrhitecture of the Sixteenth Century.

As this house is the most curious and complete example of the wooden architecture of the sixteenth century handed down to us by Thorpe, I thought it deserved a better representation than that afforded by his perspective sketch.  I have, therefore, with the assistance of the plan, and my knowledge of Thorpe's drawing, made this view for that purpose ;  the terrace is designed to correspond.  The lions over the cornice on each side of the great window are omitted.
The ornament used in the terraces is from the pulpit in St. Lawrence Church, near Ramsgate, and is shown in elevation at the upper part of the Plate.  The centre ornament at top is from the parlour at holland House.  
The richly carved trusses, and pilasters attached to them, are from the organ screen in the Chapel at the Charter House.
The ornament at the bottom of the subject, containing the number of the Plate, is from the frieze of thepanelling in the parlour at Holland House.
