Ornamental work on a Cannon presented by the City of london to Henry Prince of Wales, the son of James the First, for the study of Gunnery.  The cannon is now preserved in the Tower.  In the original, the upper panel contains a figure bestriding his eagle, and casting thunderbolts ;  the lower panel has the names of the makers, "Thomas and Richard Pit, brethren, made this peece, anno 1608."
The arms of England and the shell are an insertion.
The circumference of the upper part of the cannon is covered with rich arabesque work, which is given half-full size as the last Plate of this work, and on the envelopes of each Number.  In the upper panel of this is the Chapeau, or cap of ddignity ;  in the lower, the Prince of Wales's plume.
The ornament in the Title-page is nearly the full size of the original.

Condition is Very Good.
