Some prominent Golfers now in the Army. 1914.

For Sale is a Full Page removed from "The Illustrated sporting and Dramatic News, October 24th, 1914," showing Photographs for "Some Prominent Golfers now in the Army."

   1- Mr. G. B. Crole, the well-known Oxford University player, who has been given his commission.
   2- Lieut.  Viscount Castlerosse, of the Irish Guards, well known on many links,  who was reported wounded and missing, but is now in an American ambulance.
   3- Major Bethune, captain-elect of the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews.
   4- Mr. Guy Campbell, one of the keenest and best of golfers in the Regular army- once a championship semi-finalist.
   5- Col. Williams (Harewood Downs), who with Mr. Robert Harris won the London Foursomes last spring.
   6- Mr. Robert Maxwell, twice Amateur Champion, who enlisted in the Royal Scots, and has since gained his commission.
   7- Mr. C. O. Hezlet, the first Irish player to reach the final of the championship,  who is now of the Antrim Garrison Artillery at Kilroot.
   8- Mr. J. L. C. ("Laurie") Jenkins, the Amateur Champion of the year, who set a fine example by enlisting in the Cameron Highlanders.
   9- Mr. J. Graham, the brilliant Hoylake golfer, one of the finest of his time, attached to the Liverpool Scottish.
  10- Capt. H. A. Boyd, of the Royal Artillery.
  11- Capt. Cecil Hutchison, foremost among Army golfers, and in the Championship final in 1909.
  12- Capt. L. Nicholls, who is perhaps the best left-handed golfer of the time.
  13- Capt. Skene, of the Black Watch, that always does so well in Army golf competitions.  His is the late "Freddy" Tait's old regiment.
  14- Robert Doig, a Scottish golfer who is professional at Marienbad in the summer, and at Rome in the winter.  When war broke out he was made prisoner by the Austrians, and has only recently been released.
