Seldom, if ever, has any British inventor achieved fame and a position of supreme power in a gigantic world-wide trade in so short a space of time.  Starting almost unknown as an inventor, wholly unknown in the undustrial world, a brilliant scholastic career preceding anequally successful time as an all-round athlete and sportsman, invalided from the Army after the South African War, some of Mr. O. V. Forbes' inventions are to day well-known and in use in almost every civilised country : while he is at present revolutionising, with a view to eventually reorganising and controlling one of the largest staple industries of Great Britain and America.
