"Over a Fair Hunting Country". 1935.

For Sale are Two Pages removed from "The Illustrated Sporting and Dramatic News, March 15th, 1935," showing the Following 8 Photographs called "Over a Fair Hunting Course." showing The East Essex, Beaufort, Cambridge Umiversity,  Dundalk Harriers, R.E. and Royal Signals, and Royal Welch Fusiliers, R.A.  and 7th Infantry Brigade Point-to-Points.

a- Going to the Post :  Competitors in the Royal Artillery (Southern Command)  race going to the Post at the Royal Welch Fusiliers, R.A., and 7th, Infantry Brigade Point-to-Point, which was held at Steeple Ashton, near Trowbridge, Wilts.  This race was won by Captain J.R.C. Christopher on Little Bachelor.

b- In Ireland :  The Dundalk Harriers Hunt Cup was won by a lady, Miss Cox, who is seen leading the field (in white cap), on Tubberhona.  The Dundalk Harriers hunt in County Louth.  This is what we call a proper point-to-point, over natural obstacles.

c- The Grand Stand :  Officials and spectators on the judge's waggon at the Royal engineers and Royal Signals point-to-Point, which was held at Ashridgewood, near Wokingham, Berks.  These soldiers' Point-to-Points always provide a good afternoon's enjoyment.

d- The Fruits of Victory :  Miss V. Dalton White with the cup after winning the East Essex Hunt Club's Ladies' Adjacent Hunt Race on Galazi.

e- An Essex Obstacle :  Competitors taking the first fence in the Adjacent Hunts Maiden race at the East Essex Hunt Point-to-Point Steeplechases, which were held at Panfield.  The point-to-point season is now in full swing though the fair hunting country seems a thing of the past nowadays.

f- See You Later ! :  Mr. A. E. Margetts parts company with his See You Later, but not without a loving embrace, when leading the field in the last fence in the Farmers' race at the Beaufort Point-to-Point.  Mr. G. R. Maundrell's Morgan's Hill was the winner.

g- At Cottenham :  Jumping the open ditch in the Cambridge O.T.C. reace during the Cambridge University United Hunting Club and Officers Training Corps Point-to-Point races, which were held at Cottenham.  Many of the races on these pages, it will be noticed, can hardly be said to have been run over a fair hunting country.

h- Before the Race :  Competitors in the Royal Signals Challenge Cup at the Royal Engineers and Royal Signals Point-to-Point, at Ashridgewood, near Wokingham. 
Included in the picture are Mr. D. E. L. Gardiner, Mr. G.D.B. McKean, Mr. J. M. Tulloch,  Mr. G.S.K. Maydon, Mr. P. H. Smitherman, and Major C.P. Prescot.
