A Remarkable Cavalry Charger : The Late Leopold III of the 5th Inniskilling Dragoons. 1935.

For Sale is a Full Page removed from "The Illustrated Sporting and Dramatic News, March 15th, 1935,"  called "A Remarkable Cavalry Charger," showing the following Photographs and Drawings for "The late Leopold III of the 5th Inniskilling Dragoons."

   a- Leopold III. :  A series of drawings depicting this horses life history. Bought as a remount when tied to a tinker's cart at York, this remarkable horse was trained by Captain M. P. Ansell, of the Inniskilling Dragoons.  At the top left-hand corner he can be seen arriving at York, while his other activities, including show jumping, hunting, dummy thrusting, and winning a steeplechase, follow on.  Leopold III died last year when being trained for steeplechasing.    b- Jumping without Reins :  Leopold III with his owner, Captain M. P. Ansell, jumping a double bar without reins or bridle.  So well Schooled was this horse that he would jump a Windsor chair by itself in the middle of a field, also without reins. (Photograph).

   c- At Leicester Show :  Leopold III jumping a table.  For long a unit of the 5th Inniskilling Dragoons' trick ride, there was nothing this horse could not do except talk and play polo, and he once performed before the King without a bridle in the riding school at Aldershot. (Photograph).
