McCleave to Fight Chuck Parker - the First Boxing Programme at The Empress Stadium - Will Petersen Meet Lewis?.

   a- Dave McCleave :  won all the honours as a welterweight when he was an amateur, except an Olympic title.  At his poundage, when an unpaid fighter, he was an A.B.A. champion and proved best in the Empire.  His boxing is excellent, and since he turned professional, he has made a rare combination of skill and aggression.  McCleave is to fight Chuck Parker, of Barnsley, for the British welterweight title at the Empress Stadium on April 25.

   b- Pat Floyd :  is one of the British team that will meet the amateur boxers of New York in the Golden Glove Tournament at the Empire pool, Wembley, on May 5.  This will be a return match with the Americans.  Last summer Floyd was one of the victorious British side in New York.  He is a heavyweight, and ranks high among the amateurs of the world.
