Great Schools in Sport : No. 38.- Bishop's Stortford. 1935.

For Sale are Three Pages removed from "the Illustrated Sporting and Dramatic News, December 13th, 1935," showing an Article with the Following Photographs called "Great Schools in Sport No. 38.-Bishop's Stortford."

   1- Bishop's Stortford :  The School House and Memorial Hall from the grounds.  The Memorial Hall was built in 1922 in memory of those Stortfordians who fell in the war.
   
   2- The Headmaster :  Mr. H. L. Price,  M.A., himself an Old Stortfordian and a distinguished games-player.  Mr. Price once was invited to play for England at Rugby Football and Hockey on the same day.  He is completing the fourth year of his headmastership.  (Portrait).

   3- The New Pavilion : Was presented by Mrs. A. R. Doggart and her family as a memorial to her husband. It was opened two years ago by Mr. A. G. Doggart, the well-known Corinthian footballer and Cambridge cricket blue.

   4- Fire Drill :  Indulged in with evident relish by boys from the School House dormitories Aand B.

   5- Gardening :  A corner of the rock garden which was built and is kept by the Boys' Garden Shop.

   6- Waiting for P.T. :  Alongside the open-air bath.  There are two baths at Bishop's Stortford, and the school has a great swimming reputation.  There have been six O.S. Presidents of the Oxford and Cambridge swimming Clubs.

   7- The Playing-Fields :  From the new Pavilion.  The families of Price and Doggart head a list of notable games-players produced by the school.  The best of Stortfordian cricketers probably was the late C. H. Titchmarsh, who once made more than four thousand runs and scored twenty-one hundreds in a season.
