University Golf. 1936.

For Sale is a full Page removed from "the Illustrated Sporting and Dramatic News, November 27th 1936," showing an Article with the Following Photographs for "University Golf."

   a- Oxford at Addington :  W.  I  E. Thorburn  playing his tee shot in the short first hole on the old course.  Thorburn and M. Smuts won the only foursome for Oxford, beating G. H. Micklem and E. S. Nugent Head by 2 and 1.

   b- A Doubtful One :   Captain G. C. B. Stevens watching the flight of his ball from the first tee. Behind hin are K. B. Scott, Brig.-Gen. A. C. Critchley and R. C. Twining. Stevens and Critchley won by 2 and 1.

   c- A Cheerful Start :  W. S. Mitchell-Innes,  T.A. Bourn,  J. C. Lawrie and D. H. R. Martin set out for their foursomes.  The Addington Pair, Bourn and Martin, won by a hole.

   d- Fog at Ashridge :  An other-wise delightful day's golf was marred by fog when Cambridge met miss Fishwick's team at Ashridge.  The picture shows Miss K. Garnham putting on the tenth green in her single with G. G. D. Carter, who won by 2 holes.

   e- Watching the play :  Lord Rosebery,  President of the Ashridge Club, with Lady Rosebery, watching the play.

  f- The Leaders :  c. de  G. Watermeyer, playing as usual, top for Cambridge, beat Miss Edid Wilson by one hole.  Watermeyer, a pupil of Henry Cotton's, is a very powerful player and is improving steadily.  Note the Cotton influence in the position of the player's left foot.

Condition is Very Good.
