The opening, by H.R.H.  the Prince of Wales, of the new Shakespeare Memorial Theatre last Saturday at Stratford-on-Avon, built to replace the one burnt down some time ago, drew representatives of many countries to the little Warwickshire town, and speeches were made by the Prince, Mr. Stanley Baldwin and others, whil the Poet Laureate wrote an ode for the occasion.  Some 600 people attended a luncheon given in New Place Garden and subsequently a performance of both parts of King Henry IV was given.
