The Return of the Lost Colours. 1879. (The Zulu War).

For Sale is a Double Page Engraving removed from "The Graphic, April 19th, 1879," called "The Return of the Lost Colours." (The Zulu War).

"Major Black rode back in triumph with the Colours to the Laager at Rorke's Drift, where they were received with cheer after cheer by the men of the 2nd Battalion, who lined the walls, which were made of biscuit boxes and mealie sacks.  My sketch represents Major Black handing the colours to Col. Glyn, C.B.,  commanding the 1-24th, and who, oddly enough, when Major of the Battalion, first received them on their presentation by Lady Wodehouse at the Curragh in 1865."- Extract from a Private Letter from Captain.
