The International Swimming and Diving Contests at Stockholm.- Success of British Competitors. 1905.

   e- Johannson,  the Swedish competitor, who was successful in fancy diving.

Stockholm was recently the scene of some fine performances in the swimming way.  The International element was introduced in the mile race, which saw that wonderful young Australian,  B. B. Kieran, easily successful in 28min. 2 1-5sec., as against the 30min.  44 2-5sec.  in which Wennerstroem, of Stockholm, reached home, and in the contest at 100 yards, wherein Kieran had nearly 5sec. advantage over Morgan Dockrell, of the Otter Swimming Club, in 1min. 10 2-5sec.  On the following day Kieran won the 100 metres handicap outright in 1 min. 37 1-5sec., but, like six other swimmers, failed in a four miles race.  He gave up in an exhausted state when nearing the journey's end.
