   c- The Marchioness Nakanomikado and Major Newton, M.P.for Harwich, watching the Meet.
   d- Through a Ride.

                              The Royal Artillery Meeting at Sandown Park.
    a- Taking the open ditch in the R. A. Gold Cup.- Lt.-Col. J. H. Gibbon's Caradoc II. (owner up),  the winner, and Capt. Hewson's Pillage, the Favourite, who broke a leg and had to be destroyed.
   b- Col.  W. S. Anthony's Clashing Arms, winner of the United Service Steeplechase, taking the first fence.
   c- At the first flight in the Royal Artillery Welter Hunters' Steeplechase.
   d- Mr. H. A. Green's Broadway, winner of the Violet Open Handicap Steeplechase, leading over last fence but one.
