The train which conveyed Lord Kitchener from Southampton steamed into Paddington at one on Saturday Afternoon. Lord Kitchener was greeted by the Prince of Wales. An address was formally handed to him by the Mayor of Paddington, Sir John Aird. Lord Kitchener briefly expressed his thank, and then ensued this interesting and characteristic diologue : "How is the Assouan dam getting on ?" "Very Well," replied Sir John Aird ; "in fact, we hope to finish the work this year." "That is capital." The Prince then drove off and was at St. James's Palace to receive Lord Kitchener there.
