It would require no little space to merely catalogue the notable achievements of Lord Desborough (when Mr. W. H. Grenfell) in the world of sport. We may however mention that the president of the British Olympic Association rowed in the Oxford boat of 1877 and 1878, and was president both of the O.U.B.C. and the O.U.A.C.  He is a noted swordsman, having represented England in Paris, and as amateur punter he was champion for some seasons. He has rowed from Oxford to London in a day, and has stroked an eight across the Channel. He is president of the Lawn Tennis Association, and for his prowess as a shot abroad the trophies at Taplow Court speak volumes.  He is an excellent whip, an intrepid mountaineer, has twice swum Niagara, has caught tarpon by the hundred, and is an ex-Master of Hounds. His efforts in the Olympic games of this summer alone should entitle him to the lasting gratitude of all sportsmen.
