Cross-Line Fishing. 1907.

For Sale is a Full Page removed from "The Illustrated Sporting and Dramatic News, September 28th, 1907," showing an Illustration drawn by Allan Stewart, called "Cross-Line Fishing."

This is an effective but unsportsmanlike method of taking fish, in which anglers on two sides of a river hold the ends of a line to which a dozen flies, more or less, are attached at intervals.  The controllers of the line move abreast along the banks, and thus cover the whole of the water.  The cross-line is much the same as the "otter," but is much more under control, as, when a fish rises, either angler can strike, the one who plays the fish simply unreeling the other man's line as he works the fish in shore.
