Rumour has for some time past debated the probability of a peerage being conferred upon the War Secretary, who has of late found his Parliamentary duties irksome.  The new Viscount, who is only 55 years of age, has had a fine career,  and there is no doubt that, much as he is said to regret leaving the Commons, he will add greatly to the lustre of the House of lords.
